  • Current projects:
    • Betrayed From Within: The Untold Story of the Spellbound Tragedy — to be published in 2010. This book examines betrayal and the visceral emotions it evokes, not only when betrayed by others, but when we betray ourselves.
In 1977, my parents, Loren and Joanne (Jody) Edwards, left San Diego Bay aboard their sailboat Spellbound, destined for the paradise of French Polynesia. Three months later they were dead and their youngest son became the prime suspect in a murder investigation. Gary Edwards was never prosecuted, but the incident split the five Edwards children and their extended family into feuding factions. Thirty-two years later, the tragedy resurfaced and has torn the family even farther apart.
Others have written about my parents and their tragic deaths, but these people did not know my parents, and their accounts are riddled with errors and misrepresentations, with one acknowledging that significant portions of the work are fiction.
As their son, this book is an accurate portrayal of Loren and Joanne Edwards and how they so tragically and needlessly died while living out their dream of uniting their family in a voyage to paradise. And how their deaths, and betrayal within, led to tragic circumstances that plague the family to this day.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will benefit the Survivors of Violent Loss Network, a support service for anyone who has suffered from, and/or works with, violent death loss and traumatic bereavement.

    • Food & Provisions of the Mountain Man — second edition, May 2010. The diet of 19th century fur trappers, journal excerpts and recipes for fry bread, pemmican and other tasty treats.

    • Ramsey's Revenge — the first in a series of historical novels of the American frontier. Accused of a murder he did not commit, 17-year-old Ramsey Taylor runs for his life and joins a brigade of fur trappers seeking their fortunes in the Rocky Mountains — but Ramsey's accusers are hot on his trail . . . (work in progress)
